Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Updates For Canyon Creek School

School Update (3/24/2020)

We have a couple updates and reminders for you during this time. First of all, just a reminder that we have the packet pick up tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25th. K-2 is from 2:00pm-3;00pm, 3-5 is from 3:15pm-4:15pm, and 6-8 is from 4:30pm-5:30pm. There is an alternate time available from 5:30pm-6:30pm for are parents who absolutely cannot make the above mentioned time. As we are trying to limit exposure please only have 1 parent and 1 child at the most come to the school. Also, if you have students in multiple grades please just come at one time instead of multiple times.

Next, don't forget that we have lunches for our free and reduced students every day! Pick up time is from 11:30 am till 12:30 pm in the bus parking lot. If you are unable to make it to the school for this, please give us a call and let us know so that we can help you out!

Lastly, the school closure has been extended to April 10th per Governor Bullock's announcement.

School Update (3/19/2020)

In order to best meet our community needs, we have developed a survey for you to fill out regarding online access and learning. Please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6FFTLGM to complete this survey. This will allow us to plan for further educational instruction. We have developed a tool for questions and answers. If you have questions for any staff member or administration, please fill out the survey. The appropriate staff member will then respond to you as quickly as they can. Please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5QGMCB9

The CDC also has great resources of how you can talk with your child(ren) about COVID-19. Please visit these recommendations at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/talking-with-children.html.

Meal Pickup Update (3/17/2020)

Hello Canyon Creek Families, If you have been trying to reach the school to pick up food and have not been able to leave a message, please still come to the bus lot and we will have food for you between 11:30-12:30. We are working on our voicemail issue and apologize for the inconvience.

Thank you, Haley Morales

Meal Information, Medication Pick-up (3/16/2020)

Canyon Creek Families,

Per Governor Bullock we as a district will continue to provide meals to our free and reduced families. We ask that you please call the office at 406-656-4471 and leave the names of your students who need meals by 10 am each day. This will give us a more accurate idea of the number of breakfast and lunches to prepare. Pick up of these meals will be from 11:30-12:30 each day at the bus parking lot parallel to our playground. Our meals will include a hot lunch to go and a grab and go breakfast for the morning. This will go into effect starting Tuesday, March 17th.

Also, for those students who have medication on-site that you need during the shutdown, please stop at the school during our meal pick up time of 11:30-12:30. If you need to schedule a different time please call the school and we will set up a time to meet you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter. We as a community will get through this together.

Respectfully,
Brent Lipp and Haley Morales

Covid-19 School Closure Announcement (3/15/2020)

Attention Canyon Creek Parents:

As you are aware Governor Bullock has closed all schools in the state of Montana from Monday, March 16th-Friday March 27th. Please do not send your students to school. We understand this may be a hardship for some you, but due to COVID-19 and the risks, this has to be done. We ask that you limit students’ social exposure to prevent the spread of the virus. At this time we are not providing online learning opportunities but will be working on some academic options during this two-week timeframe the governor has given us. If you are a family that is apart of our Give H.O.P.E. backpack program, we will be reaching out to you in the next 24 hours. We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.

Respectfully,
Brent Lipp & Haley Morales

Give H.O.P.E. Pantry

Dear Parents and Guardians of Canyon Creek Students:

In an effort to support our families, the staff at Canyon Creek School have received a grant to develop the Give H.O.P.E. Pantry (Helping Other People Eat) through the support of Cole's Pantry in Bridger, Montana. Cole was a second-grade student who attended Bridger School. In 2009, he died in a tragic horse accident. To honor him, his sister Fallon started Cole's Pantry to feed families in rural Montana. Currently, 13 schools in Montana are part of Cole's Pantry and over 500 kids were fed each weekend in 2018.

At Canyon Creek, every Friday a backpack will be sent home with families full of food, snacks, and toiletries. The families that would like to receive this support will remain confidential. Mrs. Morales will be the sole employee who knows which families have signed up for the Give H.O.P.E. Pantry.

This letter is to inform our community and to reach out to those who would like to receive these goods. If you are in need of food and toiletries, please contact Mrs. Morales. If you would like to donate, we would gladly accept non-perishable food items, toiletries, or cash/check donations (examples can be found below).

Thank you for supporting our new endeavor to assist ALL our families in the Canyon Creek community.

Sincerely,

Haley Morales, Sharon Lose, and Brent Lipp
