Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Updates For Canyon Creek School

From Our Staff!

School Update (4-28-20)

Dear Canyon Creek Parents, We are reaching out to you today to let you know about the packet pickup and dropoffs for the remainder of the school year. At our April 20th board meeting, the board of trustees voted to continue the remainder of the school year online or with packets. We know this time of year can be very busy and we want to make sure you can plan ahead for your student(s) school work. This Friday, May 1st we will have the pickup and drop off from 3:00-6:30. We ask that you come at whatever time is most convenient for you. Our next packet pickup and school work drop off will be Tuesday, May 19th. This will be a mandatory pick up for all students. We will have all of their locker, desk, and personal items in a bag ready for pick up. We will also have our lost and found items outside for you to look through. This mandatory pick up will be from 4:00-8:00. Again, we ask that you come at the time that is most convenient for you. Our final packet drop off will be Wednesday, May 27th. This will be another mandatory drop off for all students. We will need all the school materials; Chromebooks, classroom novels, library books, school work, etc. be turned in at this time. This final mandatory drop off will be from 3:00-7:00. Again, we ask that you come to the school at any time that is convenient for you. Keep in mind that we will continue to be practicing social distancing during these pickup sessions. We will have a series of X’s on the sidewalk that we will ask you to stand on while you move up to the front door as the line continues. We have had some families request that we scan, mail, or deliver the work. Unfortunately, we are not doing this because to accommodate every individual exceeds our ability to provide an efficient service. We will do our best to keep people safe and only one person will be allowed to pick up the work. We want to thank all of you for the support you have provided to the school and students. We appreciate all of you! Please call if you have any questions. 406-656-4471. See you Friday!

School Update (3/24/2020)

We have a couple updates and reminders for you during this time. First of all, just a reminder that we have the packet pick up tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25th. K-2 is from 2:00pm-3;00pm, 3-5 is from 3:15pm-4:15pm, and 6-8 is from 4:30pm-5:30pm. There is an alternate time available from 5:30pm-6:30pm for are parents who absolutely cannot make the above mentioned time. As we are trying to limit exposure please only have 1 parent and 1 child at the most come to the school. Also, if you have students in multiple grades please just come at one time instead of multiple times.

Next, don't forget that we have lunches for our free and reduced students every day! Pick up time is from 11:30 am till 12:30 pm in the bus parking lot. If you are unable to make it to the school for this, please give us a call and let us know so that we can help you out!

Lastly, the school closure has been extended to April 10th per Governor Bullock's announcement.

School Update (3/19/2020)

In order to best meet our community needs, we have developed a survey for you to fill out regarding online access and learning. Please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6FFTLGM to complete this survey. This will allow us to plan for further educational instruction. We have developed a tool for questions and answers. If you have questions for any staff member or administration, please fill out the survey. The appropriate staff member will then respond to you as quickly as they can. Please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5QGMCB9

The CDC also has great resources of how you can talk with your child(ren) about COVID-19. Please visit these recommendations at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/talking-with-children.html.

Meal Pickup Update (3/17/2020)

Hello Canyon Creek Families, If you have been trying to reach the school to pick up food and have not been able to leave a message, please still come to the bus lot and we will have food for you between 11:30-12:30. We are working on our voicemail issue and apologize for the inconvience.

Thank you, Haley Morales

Meal Information, Medication Pick-up (3/16/2020)

Canyon Creek Families,

Per Governor Bullock we as a district will continue to provide meals to our free and reduced families. We ask that you please call the office at 406-656-4471 and leave the names of your students who need meals by 10 am each day. This will give us a more accurate idea of the number of breakfast and lunches to prepare. Pick up of these meals will be from 11:30-12:30 each day at the bus parking lot parallel to our playground. Our meals will include a hot lunch to go and a grab and go breakfast for the morning. This will go into effect starting Tuesday, March 17th.

Also, for those students who have medication on-site that you need during the shutdown, please stop at the school during our meal pick up time of 11:30-12:30. If you need to schedule a different time please call the school and we will set up a time to meet you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter. We as a community will get through this together.

Respectfully,
Brent Lipp and Haley Morales

Covid-19 School Closure Announcement (3/15/2020)

Attention Canyon Creek Parents:

As you are aware Governor Bullock has closed all schools in the state of Montana from Monday, March 16th-Friday March 27th. Please do not send your students to school. We understand this may be a hardship for some you, but due to COVID-19 and the risks, this has to be done. We ask that you limit students’ social exposure to prevent the spread of the virus. At this time we are not providing online learning opportunities but will be working on some academic options during this two-week timeframe the governor has given us. If you are a family that is apart of our Give H.O.P.E. backpack program, we will be reaching out to you in the next 24 hours. We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.

Respectfully,
Brent Lipp & Haley Morales

Parent Newsletters and Mailings

In an effort to stay efficient and keep parents updated on what is going on at Canyon Creek School and events that may affect their child(ren), Canyon Creek has the option for second mailings. This option is for families where the parents have separate households. It offers a way for both parties to stay involved in their child(rens) school lives. If you would like to set up a second mailing household, please contact Ms. Egan.

NOTE: The contracted bus service for Canyon Creek School District supplies buses that are equipped with video surveillance cameras. These cameras will record all video and audio conversations at all times.

Breakfast Options!

Canyon Creek School offers a terrific hot breakfast program for our students, as well as a "Grab and Go" option. Our hot breakfast program tends to serve those students who prefer to sit down with friends in the cafeteria prior to class starting, while the "Grab and Go" program provides an option for those that prefer to take their breakfast to class or are running late. Both options are always available to all students every morning. Our goal here at Canyon Creek is to serve the breakfast needs of all our students.
